NEXX helmets are primarily designed to fit an "intermediate-oval" head shape. To find your helmet size, use a flexible tape measure to check the perimeter of your head. The circumference of the head should be measured at a point approximately one inch above the eyebrows in front and at a point in the back of the head that results in the largest possible measurement. Take several measurements to make sure you have the largest one.
When you receive your helmet, please try it on indoors and wear it for at least 10 minutes before removing any tags or stickers. This will allow you to identify any potential hot-spots or sizing issues before the helmet shows significant signs of use.
With the helmet placed on your head try to make rotational movements to left and right (twist) and confirm that the helmet does not shake while doing these. The cheek pads should be in contact with the cheeks but not exerting excessive pressure. Look for gaps between the temples and the brow-pad. After this, check movement up and down. The helmet padding should not slide easily over the skin; it should pull the skin with it while it moves. A proper-fitting helmet will feel snug with fairly even pressure around the sides and top of your head. NEXX uses three different shell sizes for most models so some customization is possible if necessary by fitting a different size cheek pads.
Fasten the chin strap. After the strap has been tightly fastened to your chin try to reach over the top of the helmet and grab the bottom edge with your fingers and try to roll the helmet forward off your head. If the helmet comes off or comes
close to coming off this means that the size is too large.
